Old Rusty

Dallas and it’s suburbs are going through an explosive population growth and consequently you will find many farms neatly tucked away in the middle of neighborhoods.  This one happens to be in Allen, Texas.  I have been seeing this rusty old tractor and the farm for a few years, I wanted to paint  this Plein-Air, but unfortunately the weather of Texas is not cooperating this year.  It has been raining like Crazy.  I think I saw Noah’s ark pass by my house yesterday.

Thanks for visiting.  Enjoy!

Thank God It’s….

Yes! this is that popular restaurant.  I was at Potbelly, having lunch, when I saw this TGIF building and rather enjoyed the color and architecture.  It is amazing when you see something with the intent of painting, how the whole thing changes, in your mind.  I snapped this picture on my iPhone, to sketch later.  Off course iPhone pictures are never high quality and any photographs are no substitute for what your eyes and mind can see, in the moment.  But considering the weather in Dallas, where it has been raining everyday for the past month or so, this was the next best thing to painting outside.  I could not get the TGIF sign on the sign board, because the sketch is already too small (5″x5″).  Enjoy!
